These terms govern use of AnimeCompanion at animecompanion.net. By using the website, you agree to the terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the website.
02. Adult eligibility
You must be at least 18 and meet any higher minimum age required in your location. You are responsible for complying with age rules that apply to independent platforms. This website is not intended for children.
03. Editorial purpose
AnimeCompanion is an editorial comparison website about AI companion services. It is not itself a companion service, dating service, medical provider or platform for interacting with real people.
04. Fictional characters
AI companion personalities, voices and images are fictional or simulated. Do not treat a character’s response as evidence of consciousness, affection or a real-world relationship. The illustrations on this website are editorial artwork.
05. No professional advice
Our content is general information and entertainment, not medical, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your circumstances.
06. No emergency service
Neither AnimeCompanion nor an AI character is an emergency resource. If you face immediate danger or a mental health crisis, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis support organization.
07. Comparison method
Comparisons describe publicly stated features and practical use cases. We do not claim to have purchased subscriptions, performed independent performance tests or verified every provider statement. No numerical ratings are implied.
08. Accuracy and changing information
We aim to describe services clearly, but products, plans and policies change. Content can become outdated or contain errors. Verify material information directly with the provider before acting on it.
09. No guaranteed outcomes
We do not promise that a platform will meet your preferences, maintain perfect memory, create consistent images or provide a particular emotional experience. Your experience may differ from another reader’s.
10. External service independence
Reviewed providers are independent of AnimeCompanion. Their terms, privacy policies, billing rules and content policies govern their services. We do not control their availability, conduct or products.
11. Promotional destinations
Promotional buttons open an external partner offer and may not lead to the brand discussed nearby. Read the destination and offer before signing up. Ordinary editorial review links lead to our internal reviews or clearly named sources.
12. Affiliate compensation
AnimeCompanion may receive compensation when a visitor follows a promotional link or completes an action with a partner. Such compensation does not add a separate AnimeCompanion charge to your purchase.
13. Prices and offers
We do not guarantee external prices, discounts, free access or trial availability. The provider’s checkout determines the actual amount, currency, taxes and renewal conditions. Read those details before accepting an offer.
14. Subscriptions and cancellation
Subscriptions are contracts with external sellers, not AnimeCompanion. Check automatic renewal and cancellation rules. Deleting a character or account may not cancel a purchase made through a website or app store.
15. Refunds and billing disputes
Direct refund requests, billing questions and charge disputes to the seller or payment provider involved. AnimeCompanion does not process companion purchases and cannot cancel, refund or change them.
16. Lawful use
Use the website and linked services lawfully. Do not use AI companion services for illegal content, exploitation, harassment, threats, non-consensual material or sexual content involving minors or characters presented as minors.
17. Respectful use
Do not use the website to harm, impersonate, deceive or invade the privacy of others. Follow each provider’s conduct and content rules even where its marketing uses language about creative freedom.
18. Sensitive personal information
Do not disclose sensitive personal information to a fictional character or unfamiliar provider unnecessarily. You are responsible for deciding what to share and for reviewing the relevant privacy policy.
19. Security and interference
Do not attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the website, introduce malicious code or evade reasonable security controls. Legitimate research must comply with law and any applicable disclosure process.
20. Intellectual property
AnimeCompanion’s original writing, design and artwork are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and comparison.
21. Permitted reading and sharing
You may read the website and share links for lawful personal purposes. Limited quotations may be permitted by applicable law if properly attributed. These terms do not restrict non-waivable fair use or equivalent rights.
22. Reuse of original material
Do not reproduce substantial portions of our original artwork or editorial material for commercial redistribution without appropriate permission or another lawful basis. Attribution alone does not automatically grant a license.
23. No provider affiliation implied
Mentioning a provider does not imply sponsorship, official affiliation or endorsement by that provider. Original anime illustrations do not portray official provider characters or guarantee a service’s image-generation results.
24. Availability and changes
We may update, remove or reorganize content, and the website may be temporarily unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted access or continuing coverage of any particular platform.
25. Privacy
Use of the website is also described in our Privacy Policy. Independent services have their own policies. Following an external offer moves you outside AnimeCompanion’s editorial website.
26. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, content is provided without warranties and we are not liable for indirect losses arising from reliance on comparisons or independent services. Nothing excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
27. Local law and consumer rights
Mandatory consumer and privacy protections continue to apply. These terms do not select a jurisdiction or dispute venue that overrides rights you have under applicable law. Seek local advice if a legal question arises.
28. Severability and enforcement
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive a lawful right to enforce it later.
29. Requests and disputes
Concerns about AnimeCompanion content should be directed to the responsible operator through a verified contact channel on the live website. Questions about a reviewed service must go to that service. Do not rely on invented or unverified contact details.
30. Updates and effective date
These terms are effective October 13, 2026. The operator may revise them to reflect changes to the website or legal requirements. Material changes should be clearly communicated where required, and use after a valid update is subject to the revised terms.
